acQuire Data Extraction to Mapping and Modelling Systems

Code

aQ107

Description

This training session provides an overview of some of the methods of acQuire data export and how to access acQuire data from mapping and modelling software packages. This includes visualisation of acQuire data (e.g. Google® Earth), use of acQuire in different workflows, use of and interoperability of acQuireDirect. The mapping and modelling software packages that will be demonstrated, simulated and/or used may vary in each training session.

Duration

1 day

Who should attend?

This training session is designed for users (e.g. database managers, geoscientists, GIS specialists) who need to export data to, or access data from, mapping and modelling systems.

Prerequisite

  • Ability to use Microsoft® office suite of software.
  • A knowledge of acQuire would be beneficial, but is not essential. This knowledge can be gained from the acQuire Concepts (aQ1001) training session.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this training session, participants should be able to:

  1. Export acQuire data to, and access acQuire data from, mapping and modelling software packages.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of acQuire data workflows (e.g. data in, data out).
  • Connect to acQuire from mapping and modelling software packages to work directly with acQuire data (e.g. Geosoft® Oasis montaj™, MineSight®, ArcGIS®, MapInfo)
  • Export acQuire data to mapping or modelling software packages (e.g. Google® Earth, 3D PDF, Vulcan™, Geosoft®, MineSight®, Micromine, Gemcom Surpac™, Gemcom).
  • Create and use an acQuire export object.

Note:  Mapping and modelling software packages may be demonstrated, simulated and/or used during the training session.
