Managing social compliance risks: The link between digital transformation and data governance models
In this webinar, we invite industry guest speakers to explore the important link between digital transformation and data governance models and why it’s imperative for managing social compliance risks.
A key success factor in Social Licence to Operate (SLTO) models, is establishing and maintaining trust with a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external. Credible communication strategies and response programs need to be fed by accurate data sources to enhance trust between stakeholders. This data is only useful if it is of high quality and easily accessible to the right people, when they need it.
The webinar is hosted by Maritha Erasmus, Social Intelligence Leader at acQuire, and she is joined with industry experts Carinka van der Watt, IM and Governance Risk and Compliance Specialist and Nadia Lawrence, Chief Digital Officer.
Webinar de lanzamiento y destacados de GIM Suite 5.3
Descubra las nuevas y potentes funciones de GIM Suite 5.3 desarrolladas para ayudarle a integrar y gestionar sus datos geocientÃficos de forma más eficiente.
Discover the powerful new features in GIM Suite 5.3 developed to help you integrate and manage your geoscientific data more efficiently. Get a first-hand look at the new GIM Suite REST API, allowing seamless third-party system-to-system integration across your mining software eco-system. Plus, explore the new web and mobile capabilities for improved logging methods for a range of data capture scenarios and additional enhancements available in GIM Suite 5.3.
The success and challenges of a geoscientific database merger project
A major Canadian mining company was managing two separate GIM Suite databases; one for exploration and one for the different mines in production. There were application packages in use that needed to pull data from both sources but needed to do so from one database source and not two. This mine approached ERM to discuss if this was possible and the best way to approach if so.
An initial audit of the two databases was conducted before the merger of the two databases. This presentation will discuss people involved, the highs and lows, frustrations, lessons learnt and euphoric moments during the year long process.

The challenges of merging databases: What I learned as a new Rio Tinto acQuire GIM Suite Admin
What happens when you merge two Parent/Child GIM Suite databases? What do you do with conflicts in the data? How do you assess to quality of your final merged database? How do you validate data if you are brand new on site?
Resolution Copper merged the modeling GIM Suite database with the parent production GIM Suite database. Ian faced a number of challenges from reconciling matching data to validating the final product. He had to deal with what is valid and how to assess that when it was his first task on the job. In the process he learned a lot about Resolution Copper’s data and how processes can be approved for the future.

Interoperability is essential for building scalable AI solutions
AI has the potential to transform various areas of mining as shown by numerous case studies from industry and academia. Following on from these successful demonstrations, the challenge is now how to build and maintain these systems in a production environment. To do this successfully at scale, interoperability among the mining software ecosystem is essential. KORE has developed an end-to-end integrated core logging platform that includes high-resolution image capture, cloud storage, an intuitive visual core logging UI, and an AI platform with several AI models that automate repetitive tasks and provide decision-making support for geologists and engineers. In this presentation, KORE’s new two-way integration with GIM Suite will be demonstrated using a case study from an exciting project in Australia.
