How LIMS and environmental databases are evolving with digital integration
ALS is a leader in digital integration around the world and has been servicing the mining industry from the geochemical and environmental standpoint for more than 35 years. ALS Environmental has been integrating mining clients into our existing database (LIMS) for over 15 years, but the journey is not over. For complete traceability, data integration has to come full circle and this presentation will show the steps to achieve this.

GIM Suite (Arena) Mobile Interoperability with Open Pit Ore Control
Coeur Mining has deployed the use of GIM Suite’s component, Arena, for mobile blasthole logging at their open-pit Rochester Mine in Pershing Co, Nevada. Mine Geologists log blasthole cuttings’ characteristics that support mining and process operations. Arena allows a seamless data flow of the in-pit logging directly into GIM Suite which is then pushed into third- party platforms for Ore Control processes using an automated task. This supports an optimized use of geological information in the Ore Control Process and allows for timely and informed mining and processing decisions.
Presentation by Matthew Hoffer, Director of Geology, Coeur Mining
Evolving social performance through data-driven decision-making and enhanced governance
The social license to operate continues to be among the top 5 business risks for the mining industry. Investors and communities alike are moving beyond only expecting evidence of good practices in social performance, towards expecting evidence of good social outcomes with workers and communities around mining operations. And while expectations keep rising, the industry continues to be unable to effectively answer basic questions such as: “do we have a social license?”, “is it getting better or worse?”, “why are things changing?”. Decisions on impact management initiatives and investment programming are often guided by empirical observations and anecdotal evidence rather than by data.
